From my sister-in-law s spur of the moment decision to dig up her husband s grave, my daughter s planned sabbatical to Kosovo, and my inability to grasp the simple concept of insurance deductibles as they relate to third person injuries incurred when a dependent is hit by a blue Bronco that is simultaneously licensed in two states with liberal Governors. Scarlett's Letters Reviews
People often read books because they think they should - because every well-read person has. Others read books hoping that they will absorb the mastery of prose. Some read for sheer entertainment, perhaps expecting comfort and direction in the way they conduct their own lives. This book will certainly satisfy the latter. It appears to have been penned by a woman who appreciates the insanity of living in the 21st century and is able to find the humor in her everyday experiences. Her stories are warm, funny, kind, and uplifting, qualities that seem increasingly more difficult to find. Unlike Erma Brombeck who can be somewhat wearisome in large doses, this writer will leave you wanting more. Read this book because it's good to giggle aloud. Read this book for relief. You deserve it. You may end up believing that you wrote what you read.
BRILLIANT!!! This book is absolutely a MUST READ for everyone! Scarlett is simply masterful at taking life's everyday "challenges" and making them absolutely hysterical. You can actually picture the scenes in your head as you read her stories. We've always been a fan of Erma Bombeck but Scarlett's Letters take things to a completely different comedic and creative story telling manner. We've already gone through many a box of kleenex as we've read these stories over and over wiping our eyes and trying to catch our breaths as we literally cried in hysterics. So...grab the book, a box of kleenex, a comfy chair and stock up on the butter pecan...and ENJOY!
This is a very funny book, it can be read in one day if you don't stop to laugh. The author just like us has family issues but she can explain these issues with the correct amount wit and insight letting the reader see that we are not alone with these same problems. I am a retired librarian and would gladly recommend this book to anyone.
Once I got started I couldn't put this book down! There were somany parallels to events in my own family that I spent a lotof time wiping tears and holding my stomach from laughing. If youneed some laughs to brighten your day, this book will do it.
