This is a most excellent exposition of Pentecostal Theology, rooting it in love. Although Pentecostals talk much about the power of the Spirit, they don't talk much about love. But, in Amos Yong's view, love is the true nature of the Spirit. In this book, which is written for the academic or at least a person with a degree of theological training, Yong brings theology into dialogue with science, looks at how Pentecostalism understands the Spirit's gifts, and brings these conversations into conversation with Scripture. It's an excellent tome, and one that helps me to reclaim my own Pentecostal roots.

This was a pretty good book. Fairly academic, but worth reading. I read about half of it before I had to return it to the library.

Yong examines the relationship between the Spirit and Love in Pentecostal theology. His is an interdisciplinary work on the pneumatological reality of love. Where there is love, there is the Spirit.
