His Reluctant Cinderella Reviews
I won this romance book on a Goodreads giveaway and was pleasantly surprised to find a little personal inscription to me by the author! It is not my usual Harlequin line but I really enjoyed it. The story flowed at a good pace and the romance was cute from start to finish. Both the hero and heroine were very likeable and believable characters. I especially liked that the heroine (Clara) was a strong, independent woman...just waiting for the right man! The hero (Raff) had commitment issues... he just needed the right woman to come along! A perfect mix for a fairy tale ending.
His Reluctant Cinderella firm is a well written fairy tale inspired romance which is perfect for the upcoming holiday season. Both the characters had commitment issues and believed that they will never fit into each other’s world. Clara is a strong and a likable heroine who runs a concierge consultancy firm. She is an awesome single mom and shares a really beautiful relationship with her daughter. Her first priority is her daughter and therefore she is not looking for a second chance at love. Raff’s is a charismatic hero who values his independence very much. He finds himself falling for Clara much against his will. The plot was very well written and the romance is both sweet and adorable from the start. The characters share a good chemistry and I love the fairy tale element to the story.Read More
This is not my usual kind of read, but I attended at a talk given by Jessica and her editor and they were so passionate about her writing I wanted to see how she interpreted the genre. It's a very specific type of read and she writes extremely well. I read the book whilst on holiday and it was very enjoyable. The characters, particularly her female protagonist are very likeable and the story was well-crafted, especially the development of the relationship with her daughter which felt extremely authentic. If you are looking for a romantic read then this book is definitely one to look out for.
I just couldn't even get into this book, let alone finish it. I found the male lead pretentious. The protagonist was stiff but I imagine that changed the further into the story you got. I couldn't manage to get that far.
I really enjoyed this story of two people drawn to each other in spite of their determination to avoid commitment.
"This romance, adorable from start to finish, is sure to be embraced by readers. This fairy-tale love story will sweep you off your feet!" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars)
