This was at least what I believed before I met X, who claimed me as his before I even knew I had to leave my homeland and settle in his family’s vast, wet land. His species claimed one man from my species every ten years, the joining of a man with tentacles and a human man resulted in peace between the two as the birth of a much longed for hybrid might be the result of the union.I did as I was told. My family sent me off with great joy, it was a tremendous honor. I was scared, and when X pulled me into his arms, all eight of them, I knew that I would do anything, just anything, to avoid mating with this creature.Photo Description: A naked man is in a bare room in a spaceship. I officially lost my tentacle virginity!I had to create a “naughty tentacles” shelf for this story, even though it is far more than just kinky tentacle sex. First and foremost, it is a story about survival, both of the human race and the alien Calari. The Calari would disagree, of course. To the cephalopod race, Davin and the other humans settling in the new world of Calar IV are the aliens. The Calari are in danger from extinction and in order to ensure the survival of their species, every few years they must mate with a human male and hope for a hybrid. The history books say these unions will help maintain peace between the Calari and the human settlers, but Davin’s grandfather tells a different story. This year, 19-year-old Davin is the chosen one, and he’s not at all pleased. He’s had an aversion to the Calari since childhood and he now sees them as the enemy.Once Davin is taken to Sea’s watery home and is surrounded by its long, wandering tentacles and experiences the best sex of his life, all his negative feelings suddenly evaporate. This is understandable, since Sea is so patient, considerate and sensitive. It’s a minor quibble, but I would have liked to see more gradual growth and change in Davin as he accepts his new circumstances and learns to overcome his hatred of the Calari. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and hope there will be more!*Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love's Landscapes event.

I've never shared my name with a tentacled space-monster before and it has made me very happy.Sea is a wonderful character. I felt deep affection and sympathy for him. And I liked his little tentacle-fringed genital slit slash egg cavity, too :)The mutual penetration was a great touch - something I haven't read before in this sub-genre.Thank you for the tentaclefic, Wart.

AsSkyla would say "tent-porn"!!Okay, so it's official, I have lost my tent-porn virginity! YAY!Erotica isn't really my thing, not because I'm not a huge perv - I am - but because I don't understand the "reading it" business of erotica. However, I enjoyed this short quite a bit. There were things I loved: the backstory with the History of the world of Calar IV and it's sacrifices was really interestingly developed and I really enjoyed the way the pleasure was crafted! I also liked the MC Davin quite a bit :)Things I didn't like: (this one is particular to me, I think) I don't like certain words being used especially in sexy-time scenes...... words like moist, puckering and anus just don't invoke sexy images for me. I went to school with a guy who's last name is Angus and we all called him "Anus" because he was a huge asshole, so anus always makes me think of him and he is not good sexy-time fodder. The word moist -- it wasn't used in the porn aspect of the story, thankfully -- just makes me really uncomfortable with life, I can't help it! It is just YUCK to me. As I said very me-specific complaints. I also don't care for the idea of a lover that you can't look into the eyes of O.o... I am just a fan of that visual connection. That being said I loved that this story was about more than the sex scenes and I found myself quite pleased at the way it developed! If you like tent-porn -- or even if, like me, you've never read any -- you should give this one a go :)

2.5 rating. YEEEEEEEEEEEIIII, TENTACLES!!!naaaah, tentacles...It could have been so good, but it wasn't--and the sex sucked--no pun intended. The sex scenes lacked sensuality and any type of emotional connection, plus our human hero changed his attitude too rapidly without any explanation which shows clearly the lack of relationship development or I blinked and I missed it. On the positive side, this author CAN write. The barebones of the story are fascinating. I loved the world he created and would have loved to know more, especially because the Calamari, er, sorry, the Calari were at the point of extinction (no clue why), so if Hill decides to expand this story, adding some sensuality to the sex scenes which were truly lacking, it could probably be a good story because Sea, our sad, sensitive tentacle monster was no monster at all. I liked him!

This story started promisingly, but was much, MUCH too short for the great premise. When I say short, I mean that it took me about 10 minutes to read. That short. The main character had grown up with so much hate and disgust for the tentacle monsters that I was quite surprised when he did an about face over the course of a few hours. Had this story been more fleshed out, I'm sure I would've loved it (even though I'm sooooo not into tentacle porn).Kudos to the author for making me want to read about this subject; I just wish there had been more story to read.

I've never been big on tentacle stories, but I must admit I enjoyed this quite a lot. There wasn't exactly a romance between the MCs but something like companionship, at least toward the end. Sea was a very sympathetic character and I thought it was really brave to make him a completely alien creature instead of a human with tentacles.

Ok Mr Hill, in my humble opinion what you really need to do now is to write a sequel, longer this time. I can see that in the author's brain this wonderful plot was making an impact, but for us mortal readers we need more, more details, more pages to explain this world and why the tentacles are in extinction, what's going to happen with the baby and the MC?Great potential, it just need more.

Well, goodness me, this was an enjoyable amuse bouche of tentacle celebration.I think this one would have benefited from a bit more fleshing out, especially in terms of the history of Sea and his alien brethren.Davin is a cool character who decides for himself what he wants, and goes for it, no matter what anyone or anything else may think. It was a little nacho cheesy but also kinda hot, cuz, ya know... the tentacles. Very nicely done. This is the second of this author's offerings in this event that I have read and I definitely like their style. Easygoing but determined, a nice side of humor, and a surprise-me dessert of a comment on our society through alien means. I shall continue to read their work. :)Y'all should give this'n a try, along with Puckish.

Thank you! I love the story for my prompt! Your world is beautiful. I'm ready for the sequel - you have so much to tell me I want to know. Will they continue loving each other? Will their child be accepted? If he can't see his eyes - will they ever make eye contact? What's their every day life like? I'm so looking forward to know this.

3.5I am so psyched for all the tentacle stories in this year's event. This story is probably the sweetest example of the genre I've read--basically all warm baths instead of the damp dungeons. I really liked the set up and think the story would do well expanded into a fuller novella. I loved Sea and the sex was both original and hot, but Davin was a problem for me. His behavior did not track with the thoughts going through his head. Inhabiting Davin's head, this is a practically a fully non-con, alien abduction, monster sacrifice story. Obviously, his views are out of sync with most of his family and planet, which makes sense. He's been prejudiced by his fear-mongering, hooch-addled Grandpa. Likewise, his perceptions clearly don't fit reality, since Sea is sweet to the point of being noble, and totally non-threatening. But Davin's behavior doesn't match his perceptions either, and that's a bigger problem. If he's so opposed to what's happening, why is he so passive? He consistently obeys Sea, gets on the ship, gets in the water, etc. And yet it wasn't clear to me why: Sea isn't threatening him and we're not told that there will be any consequence if Davin just refuses. He complains and protests verbally, but he doesn't fight, which just doesn't track if he thinks he's being raped or abducted. I think there is a way for Davin's reactions to make sense, but we would have needed a bit more character development and/or world building to smooth out his contradictions, e.g. more build-up of the attitudes of the rest of his planet about the Calari and why Davin would feel he had to agree to go, more about the dreams and Davin's conflicts within himself about his illicit appendage desires. I'm chalking these problems up to the short length. Hill is a very strong writer, and the world-building was remarkably efficient given how short the story was. There cannot be too many well-written tentacle stories in my opinion, and this one had the added benefit of being sweet, original and (dare-I-say) humane in its vision of a very alien species who is nevertheless warmly accepting of humans and desirous of merging our differences. All of which is good news, because the only thing the story did need was to be longer.

What's I like in this freebie:*It's not romantic, but I love the end *I believe it's a dubcon, but I'm not adding this tag because I had mixed feeling about Davin. His behave is so uncertain that I believe he surrender (view spoiler)[to his desires, and he want to be with Sea. He went and had sex with Sea in the water... He want it, so it's not noncon... But the first sex scene, certainly is. Even if he liked it he didn't had a choice about it.(hide spoiler)]*I wish more pages were added to describe the world and to help me like the character, but I also enjoy a lot was left to my imagination. I like to fell the gaps, between (view spoiler)[Davin kidnapping and the birth of Alexis, their son (hide spoiler)]Why I'm giving 4 not 5 starsIt felt forced that (view spoiler)[the protagonist refuse to be taken to his planet or even see his family again. I can understand he decided to be with Sea, but don't want to see his granfather, his brother, in summary, everything he always knew. That's why for me it felt "forced" his answer "no, don't take me back". Seems forced to make the plot make sense, not the real desire of the protagonist. Why I'm saying it? Seems like he don't care at all how worried his grandfather would be now that another person of his family was taken (poor old guy... His brother was taken too!!!!). I don't know... Maybe more, of Davin in the planet or meeting humans now living in the planet of the aliens would make me realize he really wanted to never see or contact his family? (hide spoiler)]4 stars

This story was an extended sex scene sequence. With a very interested background. I wonder if I'm too picky or a bitch, but come on! (view spoiler)[1) A weird octopus-like species appears every few years in an human colony to pick a man2) The Calaris are going to be extinct so they need new DNA (though it wasn't very well explained how this came to be. It's one thing needing genetic diversity, but why don't the male Cs have "seed" anymore and why do the females Cs need to inject their eggs in the males so that they in turn can receive genetic material and conceive little octopi? Isn't one of the genders sort of obsolete here? It would have been more interesting if they were hermaphrodites or sumething.)3)An underwater world that we learn nothing of.4)A MC who hates and fears the "aliens" his entire life instantly changes his opinions after a pseudo-prophetic sex dream.5)The problems with infertility of the entire planet of Calar III are over after one fuck: No more extinction, yay! Poseidon bless the hybrid kid! (hide spoiler)]This would have been awesome with a little more attention to plot, lot more pages and no excess of smut :(

NSFW... tenatcles!!! (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)]Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love's Landscapes event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!Very interesting. I have to say that I enjoy having a little 20 page nugget to read before bed or on lunch break, and this was just right. But that being said, it could so become a full-length novel! More time for Davin to come to terms with his situation. More time for Davin and Sea to figure out each others species and quirks. More development of the purpose of all this (view spoiler)[Why can't humans just donate sperm? And if this really is to save the species, they need more than 1 human every 10 years. Why not let the species get to know each other and maybe actual human-cephalapod relationships could form on their own. And what happened to his great Uncle Alexi? It would have been cool if he met him. (hide spoiler)]. And of course, more sexy tentacle sex. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

This story is set in a futuristic setting. Humans had to leave Earth a few generations ago and found a habitable planet to live on. They soon came to find out they were the 'invaders', the 'aliens'. The Calari are like giant squids who are able to communicate telepathically. They allowed the humans to stay and live on the planet as long as they would allow them to take a human as a mate once in a while. The humans saw this as a great privilege to be chosen. Davin, a human, does not want to be chosen. He thinks it is disgusting and fears he will be taken as a mate. The day comes that he is taken from his family to live with his mate, Sea. He is not very happy. He does not think it is a privilege. All he wants is to go back home. Then when he learns more about Sea and his people, he starts to view Sea differently. The story was wrapped up with a nice ending.

Very short sci-fi story - with tentaclesDavin is a 3rd generation farmer on an alien planet whose human inhabitants are required to give one of their young men to a tentacled alien race every so often as payment for their "invasion" however, there is another reason for this - for the aliens to have young. After the first time Davin is taken by the alien he finds himself wanting him more and more and the idea of mating becomes agreeable so all ends well. The story is essentially what the prompter requested which is positive, however, I found the world building to be more of a show and tell than feeling like part of the story. Just one of those that didn't work for me.

3.5 starsThis was actually pretty good tent-sex. The world building was excellent even though the story was short, and the writing was well done. I felt like the conclusion was rushed, however, as Davin hated the Calari for so long. I would have liked to see a little of the character evolution on Davins part, or at least some inner dialogue as to how he's changed his thinking about them.Companionship rather than romance, but still an enjoyable, quick read.My thanks to the author for their time and participation in the Loves Landscapes event.

I really enjoyed this one, and wish it had been longer. My only niggle besides the too short length was that the dream sex took away the sexual tension without there being real sex, which was kind of disappointing. I'd love to read a full length novel set in this world, perhaps about (view spoiler)[the hybrid Alexi (once he's an adult) with a human man (hide spoiler)].
